Jones, who threw the reins after editor Graydon Carter retired in 2017, ending a 25-year run, told the staff at a meeting at 12:30 in the Vanity Fair offices at a World Trade Center in New York that she would depart in the spring.

A source close to the situation said Jones has thought of leaving Conde Nast, home for Vogue, New Yorker and Wired, for a while.
